Oops, he did it again! Clutch “The Rockets Bear” signed up for the Aramco Houston Half-Marathon, taking place Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 in Houston. Motivated by gratitude for an organ donor who saved his father’s life, Robert Boudwin, who plays Clutch, decided to run the half-marathon in 2014. His participation created so much awareness, that he’s doing it again in 2015.
This New Year’s Day was especially poignant for the Johnston family, who celebrated the legacy of their son, Dakota, in Pasadena, California during the 126th Tournament of Roses Parade.
Happy New Year! LifeGift has much to be proud of as we reflect on 2014. We finished the year with an increase in organ donors (287 in 2014 versus 282 in 2013) and organs transplanted (816 in 2014 versus 802 in 2013). And just last week, we reached a tremendous milestone on the Donate Life Texas Registry – with 7 million Texans saying “YES” to donation.
On Jan. 1, 2015, Dakota Johnston, an 8-year-old organ donor from the Fort Worth area, will be honored on the Donate Life Rose Parade Float, "Never-ending Story." Dakota's floragraph, a portrait made of all natural materials, will adorn the float, along with 71others from across the country.

Each year more than 120,000 Americans in need of organ transplants are on waiting lists, more than 100,000 of those needing a kidney. Every day 30 people on those lists will die because an organ was not available.
On Tuesday, Oct. 28, the Culture Team awarded Jennifer Hannon, tissue quality systems specialist, with the Dove Award for living out our core values of compassion, passion and professionalism. Members of the Culture Team, as well as LifeGift's president and CEO Kevin Myer, surprised an unsuspecting Jennifer with the recognition.
