As the day approached for the 13th Annual Fort Worth 2nd Chance Run with almost daily rain and storms in the forecast, we all hoped that Mother Nature would be kind and hold off the rain just long enough for us to host the event. Thankfully, we woke up on Saturday, May 16 to a perfect day. The morning couldn’t have been nicer with cool temps, gentle breezes and overcast skies.
To ensure that race day is a smooth and enjoyable experience for you and your family, we put together these helpful tips:
At the end of the day on Friday, April 24, there were 450 runners and walkers signed up for the first-ever Houston 2nd Chance Run at NRG Park. The stage was set for the inaugural fun run in Houston. Around 6:30 a.m., volunteers arrived ready to work in whatever capacity needed and runners/walkers began trickling in around 7:15 a.m.
On a beautiful April day, LifeGift and Coffee Memorial Blood Center teamed up for a unique project to celebrate National Donate Life Month. The group came together and painted the infamous, half-buried cars at Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo.
It was almost 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 28. Three-year-old Caleb was a little tired as he had just woken up from his nap.
For the first time, Donate Life America is recognizing Older Americans Month as an official Donate Life America observance. Older Americans Month recognizes and celebrates older Americans for taking charge of their health, getting engaged within their communities and making a positive impact in the lives of others, including registering as organ, eye and tissue donors.
Under the beautiful waterfall in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center (TMC), the 7th Annual TMC Celebration of Life was a wonderful event that brought together all aspects of donating life.
Time is flying by and April is upon us. All of us at LifeGift are excited about National Donate Life Month. We have many events and activities planned over the next six weeks to help reach our goal of seeing 8 million Texans on the Donate Life Texas Registry by the end of 2016.
Donate Life Month is here and LifeGift is thrilled to announce that among the inspirational and fun activities planned, the Texas Medical Center Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, April 9, in the TMC Commons.
According to Webster and friends, a volunteer may be defined as a person who performs a benevolent act or service with their only compensation being the personal satisfaction gained. When we speak of LifeGift volunteers, newly named “Ambassadors of Hope,” we all agree this is a fitting description.
