In May 2013, ICU nurse Jacqueline Nix reported for her shift at JPS Health Network, where an unidentified patient – a bicyclist, brain dead after being hit by a car – had been assigned to her care. Moved by the thought of the family left in the dark, Jacqueline started making phone calls. She had little chance of finding them, but she was determined to try.

You may have wondered what the colorful piece of artwork is in the Houston office training room. It’s actually a mural painted by LifeGift volunteers and staff to depict LifeGift’s core purpose of offering hope.

We created the Photo-A Day-Challenge to raise awareness of organ, eye and tissue donation during National Donate Life Month, gain visibility for Donate Life Texas and encourage folks to register as donors. Throughout the month, we saw many people participate in the campaign and help advocate for the cause.

Univision Phone Bank Wraps Up Successful National Donate Life Month

On Wednesday, April 30, a group of volunteers from across the Houston-area hospitals as well as LifeGift volunteers and staff came together to finish out Donate Life Month with a phone bank at Univision.
