October 8, 2025
The Alliance recently announced the recipients of its fifth annual leadership awards, recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing the national community of practice in organ donation and transplantation. Honorees were celebrated during a special in-person ceremony at the National Critical Issues Forum in Atlanta.
Among the awards presented was the Glenn Matsuki Excellence in Mentorship Award, which honors a leader who demonstrates exceptional commitment to mentoring future professionals in the field. Named in memory of Glenn Matsuki — a 27-year heart recipient and passionate advocate for mentorship — the award highlights the importance of guiding and empowering the next generation of donation and transplantation leaders.
This year’s recipient, Woodlhey Ambroise, senior director of organ operations and surgical recovery for LifeGift, was recognized for her outstanding mentorship and leadership. Through her involvement with The Alliance Mentorship Program, she has inspired and supported emerging professionals, helping them grow in confidence and expertise. Colleagues across the nation praised Woodlhey’s dedication, noting that her positive influence and collaborative spirit continue to strengthen the broader donation and transplantation community.
