LifeGift Launches Backpack Drive to Support Local Students
June 4, 2025
LifeGift is proud to announce our Back-to-School Backpack Drive, an exciting community initiative focused on helping students across our service areas start the school year strong. Organized by LifeGift’s Multicultural Advisory Committee (MAC), the drive will take place Thursday, July 31, 2025, and aims to provide 500+ students with essential school supplies organized by grade level—from elementary to high school.
At LifeGift, our mission goes beyond organ, eye and tissue donation. We’re deeply invested in the health and well-being of the communities we serve. This backpack drive is an opportunity to honor the gift of life by giving back in another powerful way—empowering students and supporting education.
The drive includes a public distribution event on July 31 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at our Houston campus, and local efforts are underway across our north, west and southeast regions. Each region is identifying schools and students who will benefit most, ensuring support is locally impactful and inclusive.
We welcome donations of new backpacks, lunch boxes and school supplies, as well as monetary contributions to help expand our reach. Community members, businesses and hospital partners are invited to join us in supporting this important effort. For more information, or to donate or volunteer, please contact Shante’ Wells or Necole Fielder. Together, we can give students a confident start to the school year and build stronger communities—one backpack at a time.
