Houston, Texas. - September 15, 2017 – As Hispanic Heritage Month kicks off, Houston Fun Runs is proud to announce the fourth annual Día de Los Muertos 5K/Fun Run that will take place on Sunday October 29th at 8:00am in the Buffalo Bayou Park, near the Cistern (105 Sabine Street Houston, Texas 7700).
Houston, Texas (Sept. 13, 2017) – On Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017 organ donation and transplant professionals will come together to discuss the challenges faced by Texas’ growing population of Hispanic patients with end-stage organ disease during the 2nd Annual Hispanic Transplant Symposium.
One of the biggest storms in U.S. history dumped record amounts of rain on the Houston area, impacting many of our staff and their families. In our time of need, we’ve seen the community rally around and offer hope to those who offer it on a daily basis.
The LifeGift Staff Disaster Relief Fund, established to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey, raised nearly $230,000. We want to express our most sincere thanks to all of the organizations and individuals who pledged their support for helping our staff get back on their feet.
The night of Friday, Aug. 26, was just the beginning of the most devastating disaster to ever hit the Lone Star State. Hurricane Harvey slammed into the Texas coast, bringing torrential rains to virtually every corner of the greater Houston area. The rains lasted for days, flooding major roadways and homes, while forcing many people to evacuate to higher ground.
