Film Inspires Others to Consider Living Donation

A screening of “Perfect Strangers,” a movie about living donation, was part of the Donate Life Transplant Games of America festivities back in July. The movie is a beautiful story about Eldonna, “Ellie,” a massage therapist from California, who decided to donate her “spare” kidney to a perfect stranger. The film explores altruistic donation in a raw form – exploring many philosophical questions about acts of compassion and who deserves a second chance at life and at what cost. It helps to dispel some of the common myths about organ donation through intimate details of Ellie’s life and her gift. For more information about this remarkable film, visit
