Fort Worth, Texas (March 25, 2019) – On Saturday, May 18, 2019, hundreds of transplant recipients, donor family members, healthcare professionals and donation advocates will gather at the historical Fort Worth Stockyards to run for the nearly 11,000 Texans waiting for a second chance during the Donate Life Texas 2nd Chance Run. LifeGift, the local organ and tissue donation agency and a Donate Life Texas organization, is hosting the event, which is now in its 17th year.

“Since 2003, this fun run has symbolized hope for thousands of men, women and children who wait for lifesaving organ and tissue transplants in the Fort Worth area,” said Kevin Myer, president and CEO of LifeGift. “Each year, participation has steadily increased, demonstrating the community’s commitment to raise awareness of this critical health issue.”
