You may have wondered what the colorful piece of artwork is in the Houston office training room. It’s actually a mural painted by LifeGift volunteers and staff to depict LifeGift’s core purpose of offering hope.

We created the Photo-A Day-Challenge to raise awareness of organ, eye and tissue donation during National Donate Life Month, gain visibility for Donate Life Texas and encourage folks to register as donors. Throughout the month, we saw many people participate in the campaign and help advocate for the cause.

Univision Phone Bank Wraps Up Successful National Donate Life Month

On Wednesday, April 30, a group of volunteers from across the Houston-area hospitals as well as LifeGift volunteers and staff came together to finish out Donate Life Month with a phone bank at Univision.

Offering Hope in the Texas Medical Center

On Thursday, April 10 in the Texas Medical Center, life was celebrated and hope was offered. The Texas Medical Center Celebration of Life, “Offering Hope,” was attended by approximately 200 hospital partners, LifeGift staff and volunteers.

Countdown to the Donate Life Transplant Games of America

On Thursday, April 3, members of Team Texas, gathered at Nora’s Home to celebrate the 100-day countdown to the Transplant Games of America. Participants heard from Bill Ryan, president and CEO of the Transplant Games and had the opportunity to make signs to cheer on Team Texas.

Coffee Memorial Blood Center and Donate Life Texas Team Up to Save Lives

Throughout the month of April in Amarillo, Mia Hunter and Autumn Tunstall have been busy offering hope alongside Coffee Memorial Blood Center. We worked hand-in-hand with the blood bank to increase awareness of organ, eye, tissue and blood donation. It’s been a great partnership, generating multiple media stories in outlets throughout Amarillo.

Erik Compton Visits Nora’s Home, Shares Golf Pointers with LifeGift Volunteers

Erik Compton, two-time heart recipient and PGA golf pro was in Houston on March 31 and April 1 to kick off National Donate Life Month. Erik, a celebrity spokesperson for Donate Life America, was in Houston to play the Shell Houston Open.

Hope in Hand

On Tuesday, April 1 at JPS Health Network, health care professionals, news media and LifeGift staff gathered for a special event, “Hope In Hand,” to remember Ian Heidemann, organ, eye, tissue and hand donor.

One LifeGift Designs T-shirts Reflecting Our Core Values

During National Donate Life Month, the Culture Team invited each department across One LifeGift to decorate t-shirts reflecting our core values: passion, compassion and professional. The different groups enjoyed working on their “works of art.”
