LUBBOCK, TX (Sept. 28, 2010) -- LifeGift, a not-for-profit organ and tissue procurement organization, today announced it has promoted Marc Casarez to tissue program supervisor in the organization's West Region.
"Marc's skill set and experience will help round out our leadership team in the West," said Schawnte’ William's-Taylor, RN, BSN, CCRN, CPTC managing director of LifeGift's West Region. "He will play a strategic role in ensuring that LifeGift maximizes tissue donation opportunities, enhancing and saving the lives of others."
In his new position, Casarez will be responsible for planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the West Region in areas of tissue recovery, data management and relationships with community partners and vendors.
Casarez joined LifeGift in July 2008 as a per diem tissue donation specialist. Prior to LifeGift, he worked as an autopsy technician for the Lubbock County Medical Examiner's Office.
He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and minor in chemistry in 2007.
