LifeGift Promotes Donation Clinical Specialist to Assistant Manager

Houston, TX (Oct. 24, 2011) LifeGift, a not-for-profit organ and tissue procurement organization, recently announced that it has promoted Joanna Zaman from donation clinical specialist to assistant manager of clinical operations. 

“Joanna offers a wealth of expertise in the field of donation and transplantation,” said Janice Whaley, Managing Director of Clinical Operations for LifeGift’s Southeast Region. “She will play an intricate role in the day-to-day operations of the clinical team ensuring that we maximize every opportunity to save lives.”

In her new role, Zaman joins the LifeGift Management Team and will supervise the donation clinical specialists and donation recovery specialists, as well as assist with the daily processes of all organ recovery activities in the organization’s Southeast Region. She also will be responsible for conducting performance evaluations, developing and training staff and taking administrative on-call duties.

Zaman began her career in organ procurement in 2005 as a kidney perfusion technician for Organ Recovery Systems. In 2008, she joined LifeGift as a donation clinical specialist. She was instrumental in developing LifeGift’s kidney perfusion program.

She graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.
