LifeGift Promotes Dacia Neal to Management Position
HOUSTON -- (Aug. 26, 2010) -- LifeGift, a not-for-profit organ and tissue procurement organization, today announced it has promoted Dacia L. Neal, BA, HDS-C, CPTC to manager of donor referral and consent services in the organization's southeast region.
"Dacia's extensive background in organ and tissue recovery, coupled with her strong commitment to donor families, lends itself perfectly to this newly created position," said Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of LifeGift, Teresa Shafer. "Her contributions will advance LifeGift's vision of building a community where everyone says 'yes' to donation."
In her role, Neal will oversee timely referrals of organ donation candidates and effective consent processes with families to maximize every donation opportunity.
Neal started at LifeGift in April 2010 as a donation clinical specialist, where she was responsible for the facilitation and coordination of procurement, preservation and placement of donated organs and tissue. Prior to joining LifeGift, Neal was a certified procurement transplant coordinator for the Wisconsin Donor Network based in Milwaukee and Life Connection of Ohio headquartered in Maumee.
She received her master's certification in human donation from the University of Toledo Medical Center in 2006 and Bachelor of Arts in management and organizational development in 2005.
Neal is a member of ASMHTP (American Society of Multicultural Health and Transplant Professionals) and NATCO, the Organization for Transplant Professionals.
