LifeGift and the City of Houston have joined forces to educate and empower the more than 23,000 city-wide employees on the importance of organ and tissue donation.

WHY:
The City of Houston will announce its intention to become a Workplace Partner in conjunction with LifeGift to encourage organ and tissue donation among its workforce. The Workplace Partnership for Life initiative is spearheaded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to increase donor awareness among corporations, hospitals and other entities. The City of Houston will make this announcement on the heels of National Minority Organ Donor Awareness Day, which is observed annually on August 1 to increase awareness of organ and tissue donation among African-American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian and other multicultural communities.
