Laura Frnka, APR
Director of Communications
Laura Frnka has 2 plus years of experience in marketing, public relations and advertising. She joined LifeGift as Director of Communications in December of 2009 and oversees the organization’s media relations, publications, event-planning and community relations in Houston, Fort Worth, Lubbock and Amarillo.
Frnka started her career at Brann Forbes, a print advertising agency based in Dallas, Texas. From there, she entered the field of public relations and worked for a PR agency, where she was exposed to media relations and strategic communications planning. In October of 2001, Frnka joined Texas Children’s Hospital as a PR coordinator and was later promoted to PR specialist. At Texas Children’s, Frnka was responsible for various service lines within the hospital, including Texas Children’s Cancer Center. After almost six years at Texas Children’s, she once again returned to the PR agency world as an account supervisor at Pierpont Communications. During her tenure at Pierpont, Frnka worked on accounts representing a wide range of industries from healthcare to wireless telecommunications.
Frnka is active member of the Houston Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and has co- chaired the organization’s annual award banquet for two consecutive years. In 2009, she served as secretary and continues to serve on the Board of Directors as Alliance Chair. A die-hard Aggie fan, Frnka graduated from Texas A&M University in 1997.
