As a LifeGift employee who obtains consent for organ and tissue donation from families, Elena Mendoza never dreamed that someday she would need a transplant. But after years of living with debilitating knee pain caused by a sports injury, she received a tissue transplant – a Patellar tendon graft – in May 2003. Elena has spent her career offering families a living legacy of their loved one. Now, thanks to the generosity of her donor, she speaks from personal experience.
