Adriana Valencia Elected to LifeGift Board of Directors
Houston, Texas (Jan. 10, 2012) -- LifeGift, the not-for-profit organ and tissue recovery agency headquartered in Houston, Texas today announced that Adriana Valencia, financial consultant for Investment Professionals Inc., has been elected to its board of directors.
“Adriana brings insight into the Hispanic community to LifeGift, which will prove to be valuable as we continue to our efforts to raise awareness of donation among that demographic,” said Sam Holtzman, president and CEO of LifeGift. “Hispanics make up more than half of the transplant waiting list in Texas and it’s critical that we continue to reach this audience about the importance of donation. Having influential leaders like Adriana on our board help position us for success.”
In addition to her role on the LifeGift Board of Directors, Valencia was in 2010 chairwoman of the board of the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber, is a member of the Montgomery County Association of Business Women and board member for Montgomery County Youth Services.
“It is an honor and a privilege to serve an organization dedicated to saving and enhancing lives through donation,” said Valencia. “I look forward to working with Sam and other esteemed members of the board and hope to bring some unique perspectives on the attitudes and beliefs of Hispanics when it comes to donation.”
Born in Mexico City, Valencia is fluent in both English and Spanish. She moved to the United States in 1998. For 16 years, Valencia worked for a world-leading publicly traded food services producer and switched her career path in 2003 to financial planning. As a financial consultant, she focuses on the design and management of financial plans for high net worth individuals and small business owners. She also provides guidance to Hispanic business owners relocating to Texas.
