LifeGift Regions Lead Statewide Donor Registry With Most Registrants
The number of registrants on the Glenda Dawson Donate Life – Texas Registry has hit a milestone, and LifeGift largely has contributed to this success! As of Jan. 31, 2008, a total of 105,000 Texans have registered their intention to, one day, become organ and tissue donors – most of which are residents of areas served by LifeGift.
In fact, Tarrant County, which includes the cities of Fort Worth and Arlington, accounts for 20 percent of the total registrants. And LifeGift’s North Region now has recovered the organs from both individuals who have become the state’s two registry donors.
Most individuals register at Texas Department of Public Safety offices, but the number of online registrants continues to increase every month.
