Community Rallies Around LifeGift in Midst of Hurricane Harvey
One of the biggest storms in U.S. history dumped record amounts of rain on the Houston area, impacting many of our staff and their families. In our time of need, we’ve seen the community rally around and offer hope to those who offer it on a daily basis.
The LifeGift Staff Disaster Relief Fund, established to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey, raised nearly $230,000. We want to express our most sincere thanks to all of the organizations and individuals who pledged their support for helping our staff get back on their feet.
The Fort Worth and Lubbock offices offered hope, too, in the form of supplies delivered straight to our Houston office. LifeShare in Oklahoma and LOPA in Louisiana also sent critically needed cleaning and other supplies.
Those not impacted stood in support with their colleagues and volunteered in various ways from tearing out sheetrock to helping out a variety of local organizations and shelters.
Hurricane Harvey soaked every corner of the greater Houston area, but it in no way dampened the spirits of LifeGift staff and the community. In fact, it illuminated the incredible generosity of the human heart.
